Committee keeps Cars for Heroes pricing and moves small budget amounts to awareness and education

The Miami Lakes Public Safety Committee voted to retain pricing and sponsorship tiers for the upcoming Cars for Heroes event and to reallocate internal funds to cover negative balances in several line items.

On event pricing the committee kept rates at $25 per car, $5 per golf-cart entry, adult shirts at $25 and children’s shirts at $15; gold sponsorship remains $700 and silver $350. Members discussed logistics for vendor spaces and agreed to set an October 15 deadline for sponsor payments and exhibitor placement.

On budget action the committee reported council approval to bank $2,336 for the car show. Chair proposed moving $2,000 into an 'awareness' line and $2,000 into 'educational materials' from account 68.28 to cover shortfalls; the motion was seconded and adopted by voice vote. Chair said the transfers will require a memorandum from the town manager to council because the amounts exceed administrative reclassification thresholds.
