Holdingford board approves $133,354 re-cabling contract; Erate to reimburse 60%

The Holdingford Public Schools board on Jan. 21 approved a contract with Systematic Technologies for a building re-cabling project to be completed during summer 2026, at a cost not-to-exceed $133,354.

Business Manager Gerber told the board that Erate funds are available and the district expects to be reimbursed for 60% of the project cost. The motion to approve the contract was made by Rob Knettel, seconded by Sarah Hansen, and carried unanimously.

Gerber said the district has placed the re-cabling project on the technology department’s radar for years and that the work updates the building backbone that supports district internet and instructional technology. Board members approved the contract on the condition the project proceed during the summer to minimize disruption to classes.

The board also received updates on an HVAC Needs Grant to pay for an air-quality review intended to inform a future HVAC project and on a preliminary Farm to Table program grant notice; both items were informational and did not require separate votes at the meeting.
