County counsel reported out of closed session that the Silverado Community Services District board authorized settlement of Will Kausski v. Silverado CSD; the finalized settlement requires payment of $87,500 to the plaintiff, and the vote to settle had been unanimous among district directors present on May 5.
Separately, the board approved a resolution adjusting the county fire capital facilities fee for new construction in unincorporated properties served by the American Canyon Fire Protection District. County Fire Administrator J.R. Rogers said the CPI‑based adjustment is a 3.8% increase, adding roughly three cents per square foot for a new total of $1.70 per square foot. Staff recommended the increase and noted it implements the fee resolution adopted in 2023.
"This year based on CPI, it's a 3.8% increase, which brings us up an additional 3 cents per square foot for a total of $1.7 per square foot," J.R. Rogers said. Acting Chief Cliff Campbell from the American Canyon Fire Protection District attended to answer operational questions. There was no public comment on the fee item and the resolution passed unanimously.
Public Works Director Steve Letter introduced a proposal to update the county's left‑turn lane warranting standard to current practice; one group requested additional review and the board voted to continue the item to August 25, 2026 for further consideration.
County counsel also announced there was no reportable action in two ongoing county litigation matters involving Hoops Family Winery and related entities.
The board adjourned to its next regular meeting on July 28, 2026 at 9:00 a.m.
