The Chickasaw County Board of Supervisors on June 22 adopted two minor subdivision resolutions that will create several new parcels from existing parent parcels.
A county land-use presenter (Jerry) explained the first item, resolution 622-26-42 (Hoover), saying the parent parcel is being split to create multiple farm parcels and that two northern fields will be sold while two southern fields will be combined with adjacent property; because the parcels involved exceed certain acre thresholds and additional splits exist, the request required review under the county’s minor subdivision rules. Supervisor Travis moved to adopt the resolution and Supervisor Steve seconded; the board voted unanimously to approve the minor subdivision.
On the second land-use item, staff said a 2019 split had already separated the building site from the parent parcel and that creating the additional farm ground would result in three parcels subject to the minor subdivision ordinance adopted in 2007. Supervisor Steve moved to adopt resolution 622-26-44, Supervisor Isaac seconded, and the board again voted unanimously to approve the minor subdivision for Block, described as in the far southeast part of the county.
Both resolutions were adopted on roll-call votes and will be reflected in county parcel records. No appeals or objections were raised during the discussion at the meeting and staff will file the subdivision paperwork according to county procedures.
The board did not discuss land-use conditions, infrastructure requirements, or financial assurances for either parcel at the meeting; staff follow-up will capture any survey and plat filings required for county records.
