Public works reports trail restoration, dam hydraulics and multi-use path progress

County public-works staff briefed the commission on several infrastructure and recreation projects.

Public-works director Dave (S2) said Grandview Trail restoration work was bid this year and a contractor has been hired; work was delayed last year by fires. He reported hydraulics for Pembroke Lake Dam have arrived and installation will be scheduled at the end of the irrigation season, and that road crews are performing chip seal and grading in Esplanade City.

S2 also said the proposed multi-use path from Pangwich to Red Canyon was presented to the Transportation Commission and a funding decision is pending; if funded the grant would presently cover two stream crossings and some road work, and the county is coordinating design with the BLM. Commissioners discussed coordinating with neighboring Kane County on continuity of the route.

No formal actions were taken; staff will update the commission when funding or schedule milestones are confirmed.
