At its June 22 meeting the Saginaw City Council approved the following actions of note:
- Emergency towers/call boxes and cameras for Ojiway Island (Advanced Business Communications): $31,229; approved by roll call, seven yes, one no. Funds from ARPA park allocation; staff to install and monitor outcomes.
- Ojiway Island North Trail extension (Fiser Contracting Company): $144,468; contract award approved. Construction to proceed as part of island improvement package.
- FY2026 budget amendments: Council approved adjustments that recognized June-period changes and funding flows to park projects (motion carried).
- Multi-year water/wastewater analytics contract (Xylem): initial FY2027 amount ~ $599,000 with further allocations in FY2028–29 for professional services; council approved the agreement to deploy data-driven modeling for distribution and treatment decisions.
- Other routine actions and resolutions, including adoption of an installment-purchase contract for equipment and upholding an amended FOIA response, were also approved.
Where vote tallies were not recorded in the public discussion summary, the clerk recorded motions as carried. For items funded with ARPA, staff reminded council those ARPA allocations expire at year-end and that operating costs will require separate budget action.
