Economic development awards small community, daycare and youth grants

Ashley Allen, representing the county’s economic development office, updated commissioners on recently approved local grants. The board approved one $250 community grant, four $250 daycare grants and selected eight recipients for summer youth grants. Letters notifying awardees were mailed and staff will process payments in August after receiving required paperwork.

Allen said she had requested checks for five additional grants and would mail those with notification letters in the coming week. Commissioners did not take further action on the grants during the meeting.
