Kingsford Heights' council unanimously approved a quarterly tracker-factor adjustment at its June 22 meeting that will slightly lower the town utility purchase-power charge for the next billing cycles. Speakers described the decrease as approximately a half-cent per kilowatt-hour; the adjustment will apply to upcoming billing cycles (noted as July–September cycles in the discussion).
Separately, a Commonwealth Engineers representative briefed the council on efforts to secure grant funding for a utilities planning study covering water, wastewater and stormwater systems. The representative said the study would be a planning step intended to position the town for potential future construction grants; the firm is finalizing grant applications but the town will be expected to provide a local match and to hire a grant administrator if the grant moves forward. Specific study costs and the town’s share were not yet determined and will be brought back to council for approval.
Council members asked for follow-up once cost estimates and grant-administrator recommendations are available. The tracker-factor adjustment motion passed and the council directed staff to sign the related documentation for the third quarter of 2026.
