Board accepts resignations, recognizes retirees and approves hires and agreements

Mr. Branch presented personnel items for board action, including recommended acknowledgments of resignations, notice of upcoming retirements (Rebecca Domen, Sarah Hilton, Melee Cassen), a Family and Medical Leave Act request for employee #4708, and recommended hires for summer programs and the upcoming school year.

The board moved to remove two placeholder items (6.5.11 and 6.5.12) after those candidates declined the recommended positions. Members clarified that personnel supplemental listings included separate attachments for event workers, other supplementals and individuals expressing interest in cyber-teaching assignments.

The board approved the Gateway School Police Agreement and accepted two volunteer appointments; administration was authorized to hire for extended school-year and summer literacy positions as needed and to report all hires at the next meeting. A board member also noted that graduate Andrea Johnson received a scholarship from the Ivy Charitable Endowment.

One member recorded an abstention on item 5.7 during the roll call; otherwise the personnel and administrative resolutions were approved per the meeting’s roll call votes.
