Warroad council OKs $78,468 in lift-station pump work, greenlights Lake St. mill-and-overlay

The Warroad City Council on March 9 authorized several utility and street projects, including replacement of four lift-station pumps and a mill-and-overlay of Lake Street NW.

Councilor Kevin Thompson moved to authorize the replacement of four lift-station pumps — one at Lift Stations 2 and 4 and both pumps at Lift Station 3 — at a total cost of $78,468; Councilor Michele Vandal seconded the motion and it carried unanimously. Utility Superintendent Dan Trosen was recorded in the minutes as the staff contact for utility matters.

The council also approved street repairs recommended by the utility commission: a mill-and-overlay of Lake St. NW from Highway 11 to Cedar Avenue, with Agassi Asphalt recommended for the work. Councilor Thompson moved to authorize the street repairs; Councilor Vandal seconded and the motion carried unanimously.

Separately, the council adopted Resolution 2026-02 naming Utility Superintendent Dan Trosen as director and Kevin Hanson as advisor to NMPA for the 12-month period beginning May 1, 2026.
