The Pittsboro Plan Commission voted to approve a minor subdivision (2026-APC-10) that will split a 6.04-acre parcel at the southwest corner of County Road 800 North and County Road 150 East to create a second developable lot. Chair (speaker 1) opened the public hearing, and planning staff Cynthia (speaker 3) recommended approval, saying the parcel is zoned I-2 and the submitted plat meets the Unified Development Ordinance requirements for lot size, width and utilities.
Cynthia told the commission the site is outside the comprehensive plan limits but is adjacent to parcels already classified industrial and that the proposed split would be a “significantly less intense industrial use” compatible with surrounding character. Staff reported the subdivision does not affect existing easements, watercourses or regulated drains and therefore meets the UDO standard for a minor subdivision.
There were no written comments on the application and no members of the public spoke during the hearing. Chair moved to approve 2026-APC-10, the motion was seconded, and the commission recorded a voice vote in favor. The commission’s action is a recommendation consistent with the plan-commission review; any required final approvals or recording of the plat will follow normal administrative steps.
