Oscoda County approves remonumentation contracts, appoints surveyor and grant administrator

The Oscoda County Board of Commissioners on June 23 unanimously approved annual remonumentation contracts for Rowe/Myers, J. Card Surveying and Huron Engineering & Surveying and authorized the board chair to sign the agreements.

Commissioners also moved to continue the appointment of Jeremy Card, P.S., of J. Card Surveying, LLC, Rose City, as the Oscoda County remonumentation representative, as required by the Michigan Remonumentation statute. The board appointed Libby Marsh‑Shephard, Oscoda County Clerk/Register of Deeds, to serve as the remonumentation grant administrator.

The board approved a slate of professional surveyors to serve on the Oscoda County Remonumentation Peer Review Group, naming Marvin Myers, Cole Sorenson, Mark Herman, Jeremy Card, Mark Jakubik, Paul McClung, Bob Marlatt and Carl Kiiskila. All motions were moved and seconded and carried by unanimous roll call vote.

The actions formalize the county’s participation in the state remonumentation program and designate local points of contact for grant administration and technical review. There was no public comment on the item during the meeting. The board did not amend contract dollar amounts at the meeting.
