Board confirms two administrative hires, including assistant superintendent for educational services

The board considered two personnel actions on June 22 presented by assistant superintendent for human resources Ben Richardson. The first recommendation — Michelle Hohman for assistant supervisor of accountability — was presented and approved by roll call.

The second recommendation — Ryan Powell for assistant superintendent for educational services — was presented with the superintendent’s request for approval. The board debated and then approved the Ryan Powell appointment by a recorded vote (5–3). Several trustees explained their affirmative votes as support for operational leadership; members who voted no cited broader process or prioritization concerns. The board noted these personnel matters had been discussed in closed session according to normal personnel process; no further public deliberation occurred on candidate qualifications.

The district will proceed with onboarding and administrative notifications.
