The Flower Mound Planning and Zoning Commission unanimously approved a site plan on Monday for Castaic Salons in Lakeside Crossing.
Cody Hay, a planner with the town planning department, told the commission the project is Lot 3, Block A of the Lakeside Crossing Addition and is approximately 0.647 acres. He said the developer revised the concept from a two‑story building of about 13,580 square feet to a one‑story building of 7,160 square feet, which reduced on‑site parking demand from 54 spaces to 29 spaces; an additional nine spaces will be provided off‑site by a Lakeside Crossing parking agreement. Hay said landscaping and building elevations comply with the town’s PD‑153 and urban design standards and noted the project meets tree biodiversity requirements in the updated code.
Commissioners described the design as "clean" and praised the enhanced landscaping shown on the plan. After brief deliberation, a commissioner moved to approve the non‑discretionary site plan as presented; the motion was seconded and the roll call vote recorded ayes from the commissioners present.
Because this item did not request deviations or exceptions, the commission acted as the final decision‑making body on the site plan and approved it on the consent/non‑discretionary portion of the agenda. The motion passed and there was no further public comment.
The commission moved on to other business; no appeal or conditions were recorded on the approval at the meeting.
