The Hull Mayor and Council unanimously approved routine procedural items during its Dec. 23 meeting, including the November meeting minutes and the city's financial reports. Councilmember Yvonne Davenport moved to approve the minutes and Paige Phillips seconded; Mike McElroy moved to approve the financial reports and Steven Hollingsworth seconded both motions carried unanimously.
The City Clerk told the council the 2023 audit is expected to be completed within the next few weeks; no specific completion date was provided in the recorded minutes. The council scheduled the removal of Christmas decorations for Jan. 10 beginning at 10 a.m.
Mayor John Barber reported that Charles Dooley approached him on behalf of Hull Baptist Church seeking possible city assistance to install lights around the church track and to purchase new playground equipment so the church and city could use the area jointly. The council expressed interest in learning more; Mayor Barber said he would invite Dooley to attend a future meeting with additional details.
With no further business, the council adjourned after a motion by Mike McElroy and a second by Paige Phillips.
