The Hull City Council approved several administrative actions at its Sept. 25 meeting, including a short-term extension of a landscaping contract and procedural authorizations from the city clerk.
Mayor John Barber reported that Luke with Green Scenez agreed to perform additional trimming of crepe myrtles and shrubbery and to clean sidewalks and medians. Council unanimously approved an extension of Green Scenez’s contract through January at a rate of $1,300 per month; the motion was made by Council member Yvonne Davenport and seconded by Council member Paige Phillips.
The City Clerk, Sandra Pou, told the council she had received Letters of Engagement from the auditor to proceed with the 2023 Agreed-Upon Procedures work at the same rate as the 2022 engagement and sought authorization to sign and return the letters. Council member Yvonne Davenport moved to authorize the clerk to sign the engagement letters; Council member Steven Hollingsworth seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.
Clerk Pou also recommended changing the November regular meeting to Nov. 25 and the December meeting to Dec. 23; the December meeting was to include the budget meeting prior to the regular meeting. Council approved the revised dates on a motion by Council member Mike McElroy, seconded by Council member Steven Hollingsworth. With no further business, the council adjourned following a motion by McElroy and a second by Paige Phillips.
The meeting minutes record unanimous voice approvals for these administrative items; the minutes also direct the clerk to publish the required notices regarding the meeting-date changes.
