The City of Yerington’s meeting packet contains a proposed collective bargaining agreement between the city and the Yerington Police Officers Association covering through June 30, 2027. The multi-page draft specifies base pay tables for officers, sergeants and lieutenants, step advancement rules, and a 1% cost-of-living adjustment effective the first full pay period after July 1, 2026.
The agreement enumerates specialty and assignment pay: examples in the draft include K-9 officer special assignment pay (2.5% of base pay) plus a $425 monthly care stipend, School Resource Officer pay, Field Training Officer pay, bilingual pay, and investigator pay. It also sets rules for paid mandatory training, per-diem meal allowances tied to GSA rates, and compensatory time limits.
Health-benefit provisions in the draft state a city cap for employee-only premium and a temporary dependent premium contribution of up to $250 per month (the contract language says the $250 benefit expires at the end of the agreement unless renewed). The contract likewise references participation in the Public Employees’ Retirement System (PERS).
The packet includes a full grievance procedure, sick and annual leave accrual schedules, disability and workers’ compensation language, and provisions for promotion, longevity bonuses and educational incentive pay. The agreement is presented in the agenda as a For Possible Action item; the packet does not record a council vote on final adoption.
