The Dolores County Board of County Commissioners approved a three‑year contract with Sidwell for website, mapping and related services at the Jan. 1 special meeting.
County staff said Sidwell will update the county’s maps and website and expected to complete the work within four to six weeks. A staff speaker described Sidwell’s customer service as strong and said many small counties are transitioning to the vendor.
Commissioners discussed the contract’s termination clause: although the county can terminate the agreement, staff cautioned the county would likely remain liable for the remaining contracted years unless the board declines appropriation for subsequent years. The county was told the contract carries a three‑year term with a first‑year cost of $21,535 and anticipated support costs in years two and three of roughly $11,000 and $14,000 respectively, and commissioners were advised to budget accordingly.
A motion to approve the Sidwell contract was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote with all commissioners voting in favor.
Staff said they had already sent an updated contract version to commissioners by email and would proceed with onboarding once signed. No public objections were recorded during the discussion.
