At an April meeting Stonington selectmen approved a seasonal lease allowing Harborview Restaurant owner Gail Stinson to use the front space in front of the deck if COVID restrictions require outdoor expansion.
Town Manager Billings said the Harbor View special-amusement application was complete, properly advertised and had drawn no public comments. Gail Stinson explained she hoped to continue using her deck but requested authority to lease the front space from the town as a contingency if public-health conditions change; the board approved the lease by unanimous vote.
TM Billings also reported the Ramos family granted permission for additional kayak launch space at the south end of Webb's Cove (in addition to the existing tin-building launch). The manager said she would work with surveyor Linda Campbell to confirm boundaries and marker locations and that selectman John Robbins offered to help with the cleanup.
Finally, Billings noted that appointment papers for new harbormaster Rufus Kiliam were in the folder for board signatures. The board also reviewed routine items including minutes and warrants and several contract approvals during the same meetings.
