Board of Works hears update on Woodburn Court project, staffing and upcoming water-utility pre-bid

Superintendent Walls reported the Board of Works and Public Safety received several operations and infrastructure updates at the Jan. 19 meeting. Walls said staff had spoken with A&Z Engineering about adding a storm line to the Woodburn Court project and that design/coordination with the engineering firm is ongoing.

Walls also reported two potential hires for city work declined offers and the city will repost the job listing to refill the positions. He noted the city's Christmas lights will be removed when weather permits and noted a retirement timeline for an employee identified as "John D."; no further personnel dates were given.

Mayor Kelsey added that a CCMG pre-bid meeting is upcoming and that she will meet with Ben at Commonwealth to discuss a Water Utility improvement project, indicating early procurement and planning steps for the city's water system.
