Town staff gave the Woodburn council a series of routine operations updates covering sewer and road work, winter maintenance and equipment, and security camera options for town facilities.
A staff update said conduit for the high school lift station is expected to be installed soon so a replacement pump can be reinstalled; Adams (a contractor referenced by staff) was named as the likely contractor for conduit work. Officials also described plans to remove two structures and replace about 100 feet of an aging stormwater line on Burnwood Court so it can connect to the next manhole.
Staff reported that a sewer segment behind the Safe Baby Box building would be regraded from a 10-inch to an 8-inch section to improve slope and flow; the work would affect roughly five homes near an upstream manhole. Town personnel said they regularly jet the line where one residence repeatedly experiences backups and that residents should call when issues recur.
Brad told the council the compost-site and police-station cameras are not recording; a local county-police officer who does camera installations as a side business has provided a system that offers live viewing and local recording without subscription fees and will provide quotes by the next meeting.
Officials said the Community Crossings pre-bid meeting is set for Feb. 3 (tentatively 10:30 a.m.) and bid opening for Feb. 10 at 11:30 a.m. They also noted a Jan. 28 meeting with a Commonwealth representative to review water utility improvements.
The council approved the previous meeting minutes by voice vote and then adjourned. No payroll policy changes or formal procurement awards were made during this session.
