Spring Hill council pursues speed-sign encroachment, coordinates with DPW

Craig Deken, president of the Town Council, said Jan. 19 that he has submitted an encroachment application to place a speed sign on Cold Spring Road and is coordinating with the Department of Public Works to find a temporary or streamlined solution.

The council discussed two options: borrowing a speed sign for about six months while village staff pursue a longer-term fix, or asking state/local authorities to modify the encroachment licensing process to better suit small towns. Deken said he will continue to work with the DPW on next steps. There was no formal vote recorded on the matter during the meeting.
