Town of Jackson trustees at their June 8, 2020 meeting approved payment of the town’s bills after confirmation by the finance committee. Trustee Rafe Stewart moved to approve the bills following the finance committee’s review on June 5; Mike Harrell seconded and the motion passed.
Trustee Jim Parker moved to table approval or review of the financial report because no financial report was presented in the open meeting; Trustee James Foreman seconded and the motion passed. The minutes record the reason for tabling as the absence of a financial report presented in open session; no alternative date for review is recorded.
The maintenance and police reports were read aloud to the board; the minutes do not record any motions or actions related to those reports. In public comment, attendees reported that a Louisiana Cares grant/application should be completed by June 9, 2020 with Holli Gilmore and Trustee Rafe Stewart working on the application. Speakers also noted approval for remodeling of the old Napa Store and announced a new doughnut shop coming to town.
The meeting adjourned after a motion by Don Havard and a second by Jim Parker.
