Travelers Rest honors Captain Lee Perkins on 20 years of service

The Travelers Rest City Council on June 8 presented a proclamation honoring Captain Lee Perkins for two decades of service with the Travelers Rest Fire Department. The proclamation—read aloud by the mayor—recited Perkins’ start date (Feb. 1, 2006), his promotion to captain in 2009 and credited him with emergency response, public safety work and mentorship of younger firefighters in Travelers Rest and Greenville County.

Council members and attendees applauded and presented gifts; council members praised Perkins’ steady service, leadership and community contributions. The mayor and several council members offered personal remarks about knowing Perkins while serving on council and thanked him for his dedication. The council recorded the retirement and extended best wishes for his future plans.
