Heard County authorizes lease with Bank of the Ozarks for temporary county offices

The Heard County Board authorized a lease with the Bank of the Ozarks to provide temporary office space for several county departments while the administration building is finished.

Chairman Lee Boone told the board the new administration building should be completed by mid-July and that offices would move shortly after. He said the county discussed renting space on the top of the Bank of the Ozarks building for Probate, Registrar and Clerk of Court offices at $1,000 per month. Chairman Boone also said the Heard County Magistrate and the Heard County Public Defender’s office will relocate to the Heard County Health Department and that the District Attorney’s office has discussed renting space from the City of Franklin.

On motion by Commissioner Keri Denney, seconded by Commissioner Larry Hammond, the board unanimously approved authorizing Chairman Boone to sign a lease with the Bank of the Ozarks after legal review by County Attorney Jerry Ann Conner.
