Board refers renaming request and retires to closed session under Wisconsin law

The Milwaukee Board of School Directors referred a communication from the Milwaukee German Immersion School Foundation requesting a building be renamed to the administration for follow-up.

Later in the meeting the board moved, on Director Ferguson's motion (seconded by Director Jackson), to retire to closed session under Wisconsin Statute 19.85(1)(c) and (1)(g) to confer with legal counsel regarding litigation strategy and to consider performance evaluations of named officers. The roll call vote was six in favor; the board adjourned to closed session and noted it might return to open session only to take action on matters discussed in closed session.
