The Oak Brook Park District Board of Commissioners took a series of administrative votes at its Jan. 19 meeting, approving an extension of audit services, renewing a turf-mowing contract, approving routine fund transfers and adopting financial statements.
Audit services: the board approved an extension of the audit services contract with Lauterbach & Amen through the fiscal year ending April 30, 2026. The motion, moved by Commissioner Ivkovic Kelley and seconded by Commissioner Gondek, passed 4–1 with Commissioner Chan opposed. Staff said multiple firms submitted proposals and characterized Lauterbach & Amen as the best complete proposal.
Contracts and renewals: staff recommended renewing the turf-grass mowing agreement with Advanced Landscaping, LLC under Resolution 26-0216; staff reported satisfaction with the contractor and the contract allows annual renewals for up to three years.
Financial and budget items: the board approved the financial statement ending Dec. 31, 2025 (Warrant 704) after discussion; that motion passed with Commissioners Ivkovic Kelley, Gondek and President Knitter in the majority and Commissioners Chan and Vescovi opposed. CFO Marco Salinas said the district typically shows a surplus early in the fiscal year that decreases later and noted operating transfers from the General Fund are customary to support the Capital Projects Fund, which does not generate revenue.
Closed session: the board voted unanimously to enter closed session under the Open Meetings Act (5 ILCS 120/2(C)(11)) to discuss pending, probable or imminent litigation; the board returned to open session at 8:19 p.m. and adjourned the meeting.
Next meeting: the board's next regular meeting is scheduled for Feb. 16, 2026, at 6:30 p.m.
