The Regional School Unit 40 board voted to certify the computation and declaration of votes from the June 18, 2026 budget referendum and recorded results for the district 92s renovation and bond questions.
Chair Ian McKenzie moved and the board approved a resolution to file certified copies of the computation and declaration of votes with each municipal clerk in the RSU. The certification is a procedural step required to finalize the validation and recording of referendum outcomes.
The board read the referendum tallies into the record: the budget referendum was reported earlier in the meeting with a turnout figure read in the packet; the renovation question was read as passing 3,074 to 1,340, and the bond question was read in the meeting transcript as passing with a tally read on the record as 2,851 to 1,500 (as read during the meeting). The chair described the results as a successful outcome for the district.
The board also approved the warrant for assessment of tax and the assessment schedule for fiscal year July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027 and authorized the treasurer to deliver related documents to member municipalities. Board discussion noted that some towns used fund-balance this year to moderate tax-rate increases.
All certification and administrative steps were carried out by voice votes recorded in the meeting.
Next procedural steps include completing signature pages and distributing certified copies to municipal clerks as required by statute and district procedure.
