Conway Corp leaders told THV 11 that Conway remains under phase two of its water curtailment plan even as thunderstorms approach Faulkner and surrounding counties, and they urged residents to continue conservation measures.
Brett Carroll of Conway Corp said the utility is supplementing the city's supply with roughly "a million gallons a day at no cost to taxpayers" from other sources and said the city has been in phase two before but never advanced to phase three. The broadcast said phase two allows residents to fill pools but keeps city splash pads closed.
Reporters repeated the utility's conservation requests: limit lawn watering to three days a week, avoid watering on Wednesdays, run full loads of clothes and dishwashers, and refrain from washing cars at home. The weather team warned of spotty thunderstorms into the overnight hours but said the expected rain likely would not be sufficient to lift restrictions immediately.
The broadcast did not announce any formal change in curtailment level; Conway Corp representatives said they remain hopeful the situation does not worsen and that historically timely rains have helped the city recover from previous curtailment episodes.
