The Audit & Control Committee took votes on multiple agenda items on June 18. Key outcomes:
- Amend 2026 budget for County Law Department (add paralegal, budget correction): approved (voice vote; one recorded nay).
- Amend 2026 budget for Portland/Port Dunkirk Sewer District (replace generator at pump station #5): approved (cost ~ $39,936 from district enterprise fund).
- Amend 2025 budget for North County Water District (accounting reclassification of interest): approved.
- Adjust interest classification for North Shaka County Water District and related sewer districts (short-term to long-term debt): approved.
- Accept FAA and NYSDOT grants to replace three security gates at Dunkirk Airport (federal ~95%, local ~2.5% state ~2.5%): approved.
- Jamestown Community College: reallocate $60,000 from an interior renovation to infrastructure work (county portion $15,000): approved.
- DMV petty cash adjustments for locations: approved.
- Cancel taxes for land-bank-owned property (tax-exempt): approved.
- Cancel long-delinquent gas-well taxes where collection is impracticable (county chargebacks to towns will follow): approved.
- Accept Crimes Against Revenue Program grant ($62,840) for DA's office investigator and ADA partial salary: approved.
- Amend the Department of Mental Hygiene & Social Services 2026 budget for increased safety-net costs (projected increase to a little over $15M): approved (one opposed).
- Accept NYSED "America 250" grant ($15,000) for county history expo: approved.
- Authorize county infrastructure grant agreement for the Welch's building (Westfield) as part of a $1M award: approved.
- Set the 2027 levy for the county self-insurance workers' comp plan: approved.
- Reconfirm purchasing policy, investment policy (add Lakeshore Bank), and county financial management policy: approved.
