Teresa Beckner, Franklin County’s chief financial officer, briefed commissioners on budget performance through April 2026, reporting that general fund revenues stood at about $48 million and that collections through May were approximately $43.9 million of a $48.6 million budget (about 91%).
Beckner said general fund expenditures totaled $18.5 million (31.6% of the annual budget), in line with expectations for the first four months of the year. Countywide revenues across all services were $74.9 million through April, with expenditures of $41.4 million (about 29.5% of the annual budget). Most functions were tracking as expected.
Beckner noted one exception: drug and alcohol services exceeded their original allocation because of additional state funding that requires a county match. She said a budget adjustment will be presented later this month to account for the additional funds and the county’s matching contribution. Commissioners asked whether the county could weather a delayed state budget; Beckner said maintaining reserves is standard practice and that the county could absorb a short delay.
