Election board recategorizes Mastriano write-ins and affirms polling-place accessibility

The Franklin County election board approved a state-requested amendment to the county’s ballot certification to recategorize Doug Mastriano write-in votes as a separate category. Election staff said the change does not alter final vote totals; the transcript records 773 write-in votes in that category.

Board members approved the amendment by motion and then approved a separate post-election survey reporting that all county polling places are handicap accessible, as required after each election. Election staff said the accessibility review is requested by the state and confirmed all locations were accessible.
