Commissioners heard several operational updates about capital and maintenance projects at the municipal course.
Staff reported the request for proposals for bridge engineering is posted and will remain open another week and a half; no bids had been received at the time of the meeting. Commissioners suggested exploring wider bridge designs (combining two narrow bridges into a wider single crossing) and noted bond funding allocated for bridge work in prior plans.
Materials for a new driving-range fence have been ordered and a down payment made; installers said they prefer to dig post holes when soil is softer, ideally after rain, and expect installation to take one to two days when conditions permit. Posts will use metal rods set in concrete with protective coverings.
Course maintenance items included plans for new yardage signs, adjustments to tee placements for different player groups and a persistent spring/wet area near hole 1 that may require digging and redirection. Staff said some CIP funds are encumbered for fencing and other items and that unencumbered CIP will be saved for fall projects; staff will provide a punch list for fall allocations.
