The Sangerville annual meeting on March 28 included elections for moderator, selectmen and school board and a sequence of warrant articles covering taxes, fees, appropriations and municipal operations.
Paul Davis was elected moderator after nominations and ballots; newly elected town officers were sworn at the meeting. The meeting elected selectmen (including Mike Gillu to a selectman seat) and filled a partial term seat; school board nominations and written ballots produced new or continuing school board members, one of whom identified as Chris (sworn later as Christian Row). The moderator administered oaths for newly elected officials at the end of the meeting.
Residents approved multiple administrative and budget-related articles: setting the tax due date (recommended Aug. 31, 2026), authorizing prepayment of taxes with no interest, establishing overpayment repayment terms (2% interest), allowing a 2% discount for early payment, and several appropriations for public works, protection, health and sanitation, cemetery maintenance, parks and recreation, beautification, and municipal welfare. The select board and budget committee recommended the amounts read into the warrant; most items passed by voice vote.
A motion to set school board compensation at $1,200 per year (recommended by the budget committee) was moved and approved by the assembly. The budget presentation included revenue estimates (excise tax, state revenue sharing, local road assistance) and items funding general government and departmental budgets.
Several procedural items—such as authorization for the select board to accept grants and to dispose of town-owned property under limits—were also approved. The meeting concluded with thanks and recognition of volunteers and a meal for attendees.
