Haslet EDC approves $320,518.80 for Nance Field parking lot

Following a public hearing on June 17, the Haslet Community and Economic Development Corporation Type B board voted unanimously to fund construction of a parking lot at Nance Field at a cost of $320,518.80.

Economic development staff explained the project is an approved city council project that met the required legal posting and 60‑day waiting period before board action. The board confirmed the design is complete, bids were received, a contractor was selected and a pre‑construction meeting and mobilization were scheduled to begin imminently.

Board members noted the initial budget conversation had previously authorized up to $500,000 for the project; staff confirmed construction is timed to finish before the start of the local baseball season. With no public speakers at the hearing, the chair closed the hearing and called the motion; the motion carried unanimously.

Next steps include final contract administration and construction mobilization per the schedule presented by staff.
