Waverly council adopts budget amendments and moves $200,000 to police fund

The Waverly Village Council on June 17 adopted a package of budget motions that adjust the 2026 appropriation and move $200,000 into the police fund.

Ordinance 40-2026 (amending ordinance 91-2025) was presented as a budget appropriation amendment; council noted an $18,000 increase in the street/parks miscellaneous line among other requested changes. Members moved to dispense second and third readings and carried the motion by roll call.

Council then adopted Resolution 41-2026 authorizing the auditor to transfer $200,000 from the general fund to the police fund to cover existing and future police expenses.
