The Oklahoma County Board of County Commissioners approved the standard annual memorandum of understanding with the District Court of the Seventh Judicial District for up to $839,559 for the next fiscal year.
County staff said the memorandum supports building maintenance and operations — custodial services, repairs, carpeting and related facility upkeep — and that a recently approved change will allocate $60,000 to cover parking for 55 bailiffs and court reporters. Staff said some funds come through the state judiciary and that the county’s portion is used for facility upkeep.
A commissioner asked what the funds specifically pay for; staff explained the split between custodial/repairs and the allocated parking expense, noting the chief justice approved the change that adds the parking allocation. Commissioners approved the MOU by voice vote.
The agreement was presented as a routine annual renewal; staff and the presiding judge were available for questions. No public testimony was recorded on the item. The commission approved the motion to accept the agreement.
