At its June 7 meeting the Board of Commissioners approved a slate of routine agenda items recommended by committees.
Appointments: The committee recommended reappointment of Paul Blake and Robert Duke Kennedy and appointment of Nicole Reid to the City Avenue Special Services District board; commissioners praised the district's work and approved the motion unanimously.
Event alcohol waivers: Commissioners approved temporary open‑container waivers for the Aki Matsuri festival (Sept. 12, 2026) and for a July 3 FIFA World Cup gathering, contingent on applicants providing the required insurance naming the township as an additional insured and addressing public‑safety conditions reviewed by police and fire.
Historic approvals: The board approved three Certificates of Appropriateness recommended by the Historical Architectural Review Board for properties in the Ardmore Commercial Center and another historic district (awnings, signage, lighting and transparent pergola roofing) and also approved three Historic Commission class‑2 applications (alterations, garage addition, roof replacement) that still require subsequent grading, driveway and building‑permit review. Commissioners asked staff about private‑road notification when a proposed driveway affects owners of an adjoining private road; staff said owners will be contacted as part of the grading/permitting process and staff will verify that private‑road interests are alerted.
All consent items passed unanimously.
