The Fayette County Solid Waste District board met June 17 and approved the minutes from its March 18 meeting before hearing a manager's operations report and adjourning.
The manager told the board the district collected 30 tons of recycling since the last report and processed 200 pounds of electronic waste, 300 tires and 20 bulbs. A volunteer brought in four batteries, county highway delivered four tires, staff accepted four pieces of furniture and about "a ton" of general trash, the manager said.
The report prompted a brief exchange about tire-hauler coordination. When a board member asked whether communication with the tire contractor had improved, the manager said, "they've been really good about coming when I call," and acknowledged earlier variability in response times before recent improvements.
The chair called for any claims; Rosemarie (named in the transcript) responded, "We don't have any claims." With no additional business, a member moved to adjourn, another seconded, members voiced "Aye," and the chair declared the meeting adjourned.
The meeting record focuses on routine operational totals and vendor coordination; no formal contracts, budget actions or policy changes were reported at this session. Future meetings will pick up any follow-up items that require formal action.
