David Agger, a Wellfleet resident, used the meeting s public-comment period to criticize the planning board s recent recommendations on matters relating to Maurice s Campground and related warrant articles. Agger said the board s votes — including a no recommendation on a master plan and a no recommendation on a proposed ratio of rental to single-family units — put the board out of step with the community and town-meeting results.
"I'm hoping that the planning committee will realize that you really are not in touch with the wishes of the majority of the Wellfleet community," Agger said, noting the town-meeting vote split he quoted as 258 to 234. He argued the board has too often acted as a "naysayer and obstructionist" and urged members either to take a proactive leadership role on housing affordability and community preservation or step aside for those who would.
Agger offered to provide a written copy of his remarks to the board and thanked members for their volunteer service. The transcript records no formal board rebuttal during the public-comment period.
