Clayton County Pioneer Cemetery Commission accepts $2,000 grant, will deposit funds in its bank account

The Clayton County Pioneer Cemetery Commission confirmed it received a $2,000 grant from the Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque and agreed to deposit the check in the commission's Freedom Bank account.

Paul Young reported receiving an email from Gretchen Corcoran, the foundation's grants manager, informing the commission of the award and of an awards ceremony set for May 19. Jennifer Garms, the Clayton County auditor, is holding the physical check; commission members agreed by consensus to have the commission deposit the funds in the Freedom Bank account rather than routing them through the county account.

Chairperson Lee Embretson and his wife, Paula Embretson, will attend the awards ceremony as the commission's representatives. The commission did not set specific spending allocations for the $2,000 at this meeting.
