Commission approves up-to-$500 advance to stone setter for Barnum-King restoration

The Clayton County Pioneer Cemetery Commission authorized an advance of up to $500 to assist a contracted stone setter working at Barnum-King Cemetery.

Chair Lee Embretson reported that Leon Manning of Three State Stone Resetting will set gravestones in the restored section; the commission noted that Clay Bolsinger previously glued stones but does not have experience setting them in place. Ellen Collins moved to advance up to $500 to Manning for supplies and materials if he requests the advance; Bruce Collins seconded and the motion passed.

The commission did not specify a timeline for the work at this meeting beyond approving the possible advance; follow-up on supplies and any invoice requests will be handled through the commission treasurer.
