The Seven Hills City Council finance committee voted to refer a proposed lot split on Seven Hills Boulevard to the city planning commission.
The finance chair said the referral was necessary after engineering review of the submitted lot‑split application found a portion of Seven Hills Boulevard "was not dedicated for public use," and characterized the proposed ordinance as a cleanup measure to correct historical issues. Planning commission review is a mandatory referral under the city charter and the commission will issue a recommendation before the matter returns to the council.
Committee members asked to see the location on a map; the parcel was described as at Cherry and Seven Hills Boulevard at the far end of Calvin Park. The finance chair said the planning commission must receive at least 15 days' notice before its next meeting on July 7, meaning the referral must proceed now to meet that timeline. The committee approved the referral by voice vote after a second.
No final council action was taken at the meeting; the planning commission will review the engineering findings and return a recommendation to council for a subsequent decision.
