Cedarville advances City Hall project; council allocates funds and seeks bids

Council discussion over multiple meetings in 2004 focused on constructing a new City Hall and funding that project.

Council Member Connelly reported he had collected two price quotes for materials and estimated that the project could be completed for about $80,000 if the volunteer labor he described is available. Mayor Beverly Pyle directed Connelly to obtain a third bid to meet procurement rules. The council approved a budget amendment to reflect $80,000 for City Hall construction and also increased the building line item; one procedural motion was recorded with Connelly abstaining and the amendment passed.

Logistics and site work were tracked across the spring and fall: Connelly said he needed two loads of crusher dust so the plumber could proceed; later, Vince volunteered to contact Tom to arrange spreading the crusher dust. Minutes indicate the council delegated ordering materials to the mayor and public-works follow-up to ensure the work proceeded.

The council recorded no final construction contract in the minutes; the actions on record are planning, budget amendments and preparatory site work.
