Roosevelt County commissioners approved several routine items June 16, including the purchase of a used 2011 Peterbilt semi from Brad Johnson for $40,000, acceptance of the resignation of health department employee Patty Presser and approvals of minutes for multiple recent meetings.
The chair presented the road department request to acquire the 2011 Peterbilt semi for $40,000 to be used at the McCabe shop, saying the road foreman had inspected the vehicle and found it to be in good condition although used equipment carries uncertainty. The motion to approve the purchase was made, seconded and passed by voice vote.
Commissioners also approved minutes for the gravel bin opening on June 9, 2026, the regular public meeting of June 9, 2026, and a special public meeting of June 11, 2026 (the latter noted as an election‑related meeting). Each set of minutes was moved, seconded and approved with no discussion.
On personnel business, the board accepted the resignation of Patty Presser from the health department. The chair noted Presser’s last day will be Sept. 30 and recognized her 19 years of service, including roles as a nurse and as director. The motion to accept the resignation was made, seconded and approved.
The chair closed the meeting at 11:05 a.m.
