Dunmore Council appoints Christopher Brazen as part‑time police officer

Dunmore Borough Council on Feb. 9 approved a motion to appoint Christopher Brazen as a part‑time police officer, with the appointment subject to Chief Marchese's approval.

The motion was made by Councilwoman Elizabeth Zangardi and seconded by Councilman William O'Malley. Vice President Michael Dempsey noted the hire was “preliminary” and said the borough is “running low on police officers,” urging anyone interested or eligible to take the civil service test. The motion passed with all members present voting aye.

Council urged residents to encourage qualified candidates to apply and to take the civil service exam when announced. The appointment will be finalized once Chief Marchese completes customary approvals and any required certifications.
