The Villa Park Green Commission on June 16 swore in new commissioners and heard introductions from the incoming members before postponing internal role assignments to a later meeting.
Jenny Hamilton introduced herself as a new commissioner and said she has a background in environmental science, having studied natural resources and environmental policy at Purdue and worked in ecological restoration and drinking water compliance. "I'm Jenny Hamilton. I have a background in environmental science," she said.
Rhonda Coleman also introduced herself and described community involvement in Villa Park, including leadership at St. Alexander and the Villa Park women's club. "I'm Rhonda Coleman. I'm very involved in the village of Villa Park community," she said.
The commission moved to approve minutes from its Feb. 17 meeting; a motion and second were recorded and a roll-call vote resulted in the motion passing. The transcript records affirmative responses but does not clearly attribute each verbal 'yes' to a specific commissioner in the roll-call exchange.
Members agreed to postpone assignment of internal roles (such as chair) until the next meeting. Village board liaison Patrick said the commission still needs one more member and a potential chair to reach full membership and encouraged commissioners to continue conversations outside the meeting.
The meeting closed after staff reported no comments and the commission voted to adjourn.
