Organizers seeking up to $10,000 to host an All-Star Baseball tournament at Windsor Graham Park told the Scott County Business Commission on June 16 that the event could draw as many as 350–500 participants over multiple days.
Commissioners questioned a request that would cover most of a stated $12,000 event budget and said the applicants should present in person so commissioners can ask detailed questions about ticketing, parking revenue, and whether the event would generate hotel stays. A commissioner noted, "I would have to recommend that we kick this for this number. They're going to have to come and talk to us." Commissioners discussed the option of post-event reimbursement if applicants preferred and suggested a special meeting if timing demanded a quicker decision.
No vote or award was made at the June 16 meeting; commissioners tasked staff (Chris) to contact the applicants about appearing at a future special meeting or the next regular meeting.
