Judge Tammy Long Hayward on June 15 signed a consent order modifying a no-contact condition to permit limited contact between Anita Orosco and her adult daughter, Cassandra de la Cruz Perez, and granted an ignition-interlock waiver for Josh Augustus Boyd after finding the device would cause a financial hardship.
Anita Orosco, who identified herself in court as the defendant’s mother and the case victim, told the court she needs contact with her daughter to help care for grandchildren and asked that the no-contact order be changed. The judge agreed to a modification allowing "no violent or harassing contact" and also agreed to remove the stay-away from the incident location; counsel submitted a consent order for the judge's signature.
Separately, Josh Augustus Boyd appeared for an interlock-waiver hearing and described his circumstances — working multiple jobs, lacking regular transportation and facing high device costs. Counsel and the court discussed typical interlock pricing and Boyd said the device would be a hardship; Judge Hayward found the evidence supported waiver and directed staff to prepare and send the signed waiver form to Boyd by email.
Both matters were resolved on the motions calendar without contested hearings after counsel confirmed consent orders or the state's agreement.
