Ashville council adopts fire-cap reimbursement, police pay emergency and cybersecurity policy

The Ashville Village Council voted on multiple items during its June 15 meeting:

• Resolution 09-2026 (third reading): Council adopted a fire-cap reimbursement agreement authorizing the village administrator and fiscal officer to execute the agreement with Carter Lumber; council clarified the village will not incur additional cost and will credit the existing tap while the company pays to upgrade the tap.

• Ordinance 2026-10 (third reading, emergency): Council adopted an update to the village police pay schedule, approved as an emergency ordinance with roll-call votes recorded as affirmative by council members present.

• Ordinance 2026-11 (third reading): Council adopted the village cybersecurity policy as an emergency measure; council recorded affirmative votes from members present.

Clerk and council members conducted roll-call voting for the measures and confirmed unanimous support among members present at the meeting. No formal amendments were recorded on these items during the meeting. Council members said that further administrative steps will follow for contract execution and internal policy implementation.

The meeting also recorded motions to approve two 'then-and-now' payments and routine departmental updates.
